Samsung Electronics has organized a conference in Silicon Valley to present innovative directions for future communication technologies using artificial intelligence (AI) and collaborate on the development of next-generation communication technologies.

The company held the Silicon Valley Future Communications Summit 2025 in Mountain View, Silicon Valley, United States on Nov. 13 (local time). This event was conducted under the theme “New Possibilities Opened by AI Networks” with participation from over 100 communication experts including global major mobile carriers, manufacturers, government agencies, and academic leaders. Samsung Electronics demonstrated its 6G communication technology leadership by sharing development achievements of ‘AI-embedded’ technologies applied to communication systems.

The event was organized into three sessions: AI-based new services, AI wireless technology innovation, and AI network innovation. Participants also had time for free inquiry and discussion through panel discussions.

In the AI-based new services session, the feasibility of realizing new wireless communication network services with AI technology applied, such as AR·XR (Augmented·Extended Reality) and sensing and communication convergence (ISAC), was discussed. In the AI wireless technology innovation session, the latest development status of AI-RAN, a core technology of 6G communication, and optimization of wireless communication network performance through AI were discussed. In the AI network innovation session, various impacts of AI-embedded communication technologies on wired and wireless communication networks and servers were addressed. Cases where AI technology is utilized for △network automation △resource management optimization △predictive-based maintenance to maximize network operation efficiency were shared at this venue.

Technology demonstrations of AI-RAN technology jointly developed and verified by Samsung Electronics and partner companies were also conducted at the event. Participants showed great interest in the verification results where base station communication equipment with AI-RAN applied autonomously judges and adjusts to achieve network quality optimization.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is expanding cooperation on 6G and AI-based communication technologies with various global partners including global mobile carriers, research institutes, and consortiums. Earlier this year, it began cooperation with domestic mobile carriers as well as SoftBank and Japan’s KDDI Research to improve the quality of future communication networks such as 6G, and is also participating in the global consortium Verizon 6G Innovation Forum to work toward realizing 6G technology.

Jung Jin-kook, vice president and head of the Next-Generation Communications Research Center at Samsung Research, Samsung Electronics, said, “Samsung Electronics is focusing on integrating AI into communication systems to maximize user experience and network operation efficiency,” and “We will continue to expand cooperation with the telecommunications industry and make sustained efforts for the development of next-generation communication technologies.”
